Technical specifications

System requirements

RBEditor™ has currently been tested on:

• Win 2000, Win 2000 Pro.
• Win XP, Win XP Pro.
• Linux (various dists.)

System requirements are in general the same as for a JRE (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/system-configurations.html).
If you have successfully run the application on some other OS please report it.

Full installation package

• Windows as operating system. (see link above for details).

Program files only

• Any computer with a working java runtime engine.
• You need a JRE of version v1.5 or later to run RBEditor™.
• The application is in the form of an executable java archive file (.jar).

Installation

Full installation

The full installation package contains all you need to run RBEditor™. Just install an run. This alternative is only available for windows users and is the recommended one.

• Download the install package RBEditorSetup_<version>.exe, where <version> depends on the current version.
• Launch the self installer and follow the directions.
• Download size: 0 MB.

Program files only

This alternative has a smaller downloadable but it only contains necessary program files. You need a valid java runtime engine to run RBEditor™ (see System requirements). Java runtime (JRE) is available at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp for the following platforms: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/system-configurations.html, so it should work on all these platforms.

• Download, unzip and double click the file RBEditor.jar (or run it with ~:>java -jar RBEditor.jar or ~:>javaw -jar RBEditor.jar)
• Download size: 0 KB.

For developers and experts

The file format used in RBEditor™ is in the form of serialized java objects (applies to both .rbf and .xml files) and has an open API. That is, anyone can get the API and create their own programs to read the files. If you are interested in the API then let me know at
